Dell 1110MP….Puts It All Together

Dell has entered the market and is now starting to get its feet wet. Dell has now brought forth a DLP projector for the masses and is bringing the same mind set to the projector industry what they did for the personal computer industry.

It is June 2005 and Dell has already introduced the 1100MP, a projector that is affordable, has great potential and has easy-to-use features. The 1100MP is only available in Europe and parts of Africa and the Middle-East so unfortunately it isn’t for everyone but hopefully Dell will reconsider the North American market.

The 1100Mp is a tight little projector with a price tag of $800 it is certainly worth its weight in DLP chips. Yes, it is a DLP projector but there isn’t too much information flying around about what speed its color wheel spins and exactly how many segments it consists of.

The accessories that Dell packs into every 1100MP package are phenomenal and consist of a carrying case, all the wires needed to make any kind of connection (excluding DVI), and a remote control. It even comes with USB and Component Video cables which we all know are quite expensive and just keep adding up when you realize how much more you have to purchase after buying the projector itself.

Like any Dell product it comes with great service and a great warranty. The projector has a 1-year warranty and the projector lamp has a 3-month warranty. If its brightness that you need, the 1100MP comes equipped with 2100 ANSI lumens pumped out of a 200W projector lamp. It is this sick amount of lumens that Provides you with the ability to project in just about any location. Even more good news is that the lamp provides at least 2000 hours and that isn’t even on economy mode!

Dell being the computer geniuses that they are have put together some user friendly features such as; immediate plug and play when you connect your computer to your projector so that it adjust the resolution to match your monitor (up to 1400x1050). You can also link up multiple monitors using the Loop feature.

It comes with a built in speaker to make sure that sound quality is number one. Contrast ratio is just simply sickening at 1400:1 giving extreme black levels and color saturation. It is a native 4:3 projector so I would probably use it on an office environment but don’t let that stop you from watching a movie every now and then.

We can only sit and wait for Michael Dell to make a decision about North America so that everyone can have access to affordable projectors that aren’t the junk of the past.
